Macau International Airport Recorded Stable Growth in July Traffic 02 Aug 2013

In July, Macau International Airport (MIA) recorded a stable growth in both passenger traffic volume and aircraft movement, which is a break through. Passenger volume surpassed 440,000, representing an increase of 5%, and aircraft movement over 4,200 recorded a 15% increase comparing to the same period last year.  The travel demand of local residents and tourists drive the summer holiday one of the busiest period for travelling.  The air market performs well especially for the routes of Mainland and the Southeast Asia region.

The passenger volume from January to July recorded over 2.8 million and the aircraft movements recorded over 27,000, increase of 13 % and 20 % respectively over the same period of last year. Another breakthrough is on route development, Xiamen Airlines will launch daily flight from Tianjin to Macau via Xiamen on 10th August.  Along with more Northern China routes to be launched in the near future, MIA will enrich the Mainland China route network.

MIA has been providing diversify and better services to our passengers. Other than the Virtual Assistant installed at the departure level earlier this year as to provide the airport information for passengers, MIA is also planning to establish a Kid Zone at the departure hall airside. By using advanced IT, the Kid Zone will provide a brand new amusement and entertainment for the kids.
