Passenger Traffic Reaches a New Record High in July, Exceeded 740 Thousand Passengers02 Aug 2018

Macau International Airport (MIA) experienced its busiest month ever in July 2018, in which to cross the 740 thousand passenger movements mark for the first time in the airport’s history. This is the new monthly record of the highest single month passenger traffic with average daily passenger traffic over 23,000, gaining 11% comparing with the last year.  There were over 5,700 aircraft movement in July, 12% more than the same period of last year. Which set a new monthly record for aircraft movement in July 2018.  Mainland China routes continue to perform well in July and taking up 36% of the overall passenger market, followed by Southeast Asia and China Taiwan, accounting for 41% and 22% respectively. The passenger traffic and flight movements of MIA are expected to grow even more and should make another new breakthrough during the peak summer vacation season in August.

 

Up to the end of July 2018, there are 30 airlines operate at Macau International Airport (MIA) connecting Macau to 50 destinations covering area in Mainland China, China Taiwan, Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia.  Summer holiday is the peak season of traveling in Macau.  Apart from ensuring the safety, efficiency and effectiveness, MIA has arranged a series of interactive, singing and musical instruments performance for tourists in July and August.  MIA will continue to cooperate with each airport units to ensure our passengers with a comfort and pleasant journey at MIA.
